Garden City, Kansas
Garden City relied on manual meter reads through a contracted meter reading service—an additional cost to the city, and an inconvenience for residents. Moreover, challenges reading meters during winter months required bills to be based upon estimated usage. The city turned to Sensus for solutions. Alabama Power
Alabama Power Company had been preparing for severe weather to hit the state long before the morning of April 27, 2011. By daybreak, repair crews were already working to restore power to customers affected by a line of severe storms that had passed through overnight. Sensus’ FlexNet™ system remained largely intact throughout the event, and most service was restored two days faster than what had been experienced in previous events.
